”The Rising Sun” is an attractive old pub on Carter Street (EC1 postcode district) in London, rather hidden away in a Dickensian alley next door to the historic Priory Church of Saint Bartholomew the Great. Reviewers describe it as a comfortable place with darts and fruit machines, cheap grub, and a Tuesday quiz night. Who could resist that? And someone please tell me what a fruit machine is.
